From the beginning of 2017, the Electricity Market Operator presents the updated version of its official website.
We believe that the new version of website is very comprehensive technically as well as content-wise, in line with the best practices in this field. Simple and practical design, easy transfer through the links and updated information blocks are user-friendly and make the interesting news easily accessible.
The old database allows the interested persons to compare, see and analyze the trends. Significant novelty is the placement of operative information about current reporting period. Although in the form of forecast, it will still serve the interested parties to plan their activities. The new version of export-import and transit information blocks will be interesting for the users. The data placed on the website will be timely updated. There is a big demand for the English version of the website. As a rule, it will be updated in parallel mode.
Settlement Indicators of February 2018
In February 2018, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 256 396 894.4 kWh, which represents 23% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up 33 089 858.3 GEL.

From March 19, 2018, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “HYDROENERGY” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as Power Plant - During The Test Run And/Or Complex Testing, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
Mr. John Svinsko - Segnior Expert of USAID Energy Program visited the Electricity Market Operator. During this meeting, ESCO was represented by its Director General - Vakhtang Amboakadze, the Head of Trade Organization and Electricity Market Development Department - Zaza Gergaya and the representatives of same department. The aim of the visit was to analyze and review together with ESCO the new energy market model, news and perspectives.
The Electricity Market Operator held the business meetings with the companies: Clifford Chance and ENKA, to discuss the issues related to Namakhvani HPP. In addition, the meetings were held with the representatives of International Finance Corporation IFC and World Bank Group/MIGA. The topics of the meetings included the review of draft agreement and memorandum on guaranteed purchase of electricity, generated by Namakhvani HPP and the analysis of trade relations relevant with the new market model.
The Electricity Market Operator held a business meeting with the representatives of Energoinvest. The aim of the meeting was to review the project on guaranteed purchase of power, generated by Avani HPP. Energoinvest was represented by the Director of Avani HPP - Kakha Kobaidze and the representatives of legal and energy units. From the side of ESCO the meeting was led by its Deputy Director General - Zaza Dvalishvili and attended by the Head of Legal Department - Ana Tomaradze and the representatives of various departments.
