ESCO's Participation in the Energy Conference Held under the USAID Energy Program
ESCO’s General Director Vakhtang Ambokadze took part in the Energy Conference, held on April 12 at the Sheraton Tbilisi Metekhi Palace Grand Hotel, as part of the USAID Energy Program. Main topic of this Conference was the energy security in the Caucasus Region in the context of the opening of the energy market.
The representatives of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), German Development Bank (KfW) and Georgian energy companies took part in the Conference, which was opened by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava.
In his speech, the Director General of ESCO spoke about the involvement of the Electricity Market Operator in the process of opening the electricity market and the reform of electricity trading scheme as well as the role and functional readiness of ESCO.
The Conference discussed the energy security of Georgia. The speakers thanked the donor organizations for their support. In turn, the donor organizations expressed their views on the importance of energy security, which is one of the guarantees for the sustainable and reliable functioning and development of the Country's energy sector.
