From September 24, 2026, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Wind Power” JSC (in the part of Ruisi Wind Power Plant) to take part in the wholesale trade as Power Plant - During The Test Run And/Or Complex Testing, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
The Director General of the Electricity Market Operator of Georgia (ESCO), Tornike Kazarashvili, together with his deputies, attended a festive event dedicated to Energy Workers’ Day.
Georgian energy workers were congratulated on their professional day by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili.
From September 15, 2026, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Alioni Energy” LLC to take part in the wholesale trade as Free Supplier, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
In August 2026, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 322 147 225.9 kWh, which represents 25% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 54 295 498.

In August, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 16.898859417 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 4.021 Tetri.
From September 13, 2026, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Bakhvi 2” LLC to take part in the wholesale trade as Direct Customer, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From September 12, 2026, the Electricity Market Operator has cancelled the registration of “Bakhvi 2” LTD, in the part of Bakhvi 2B HPP, as a Power Plant During the Test Run and/or a Comprehensive Testing and in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”, it is no more considered as a wholesale trade participant.
On September 3, 2026, the Electricity Market Operator, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules,” registered “Vortex Energy Trading” LLC as a participant in the wholesale electricity market, authorized to operate as both an exporter and an importer.
In July 2026, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 234 822 870.8 kWh, which represents 17% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 26 393 817.42.

From July 17, 2026, the Electricity Market Operator, in accordance with the Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules, has registered Hydro 4 LLC as a participant in the wholesale electricity market, in respect of Korsha HPP, Roshka 1 HPP, Roshka 2 HPP, and Roshka 3 HPP, under the category of a small power plant.
On July 16, 2026, the Electricity Market Operator, in accordance with the Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules, cancelled the wholesale market participant registration of “GTM Group” LLC, in respect of Korsha HPP, Roshka 1 HPP, Roshka 2 HPP, and Roshka 3 HPP, under the category of a small power plant.
