From July 15, 2025, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Gross Energy Trading” LLC to take part in the wholesale trade as an Importer, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From July 15, 2025, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Gross Energy Trading” LLC to take part in the wholesale trade as an Exporter, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, introduced the new General Director, Tornike Kazarashvili, to the staff of the company.
“Tornike is a professional in the field and has a thorough understanding of both the opportunities and challenges within the energy sector. ESCO has played a crucial role in maintaining the stability of the country’s electricity sector, and I am confident that the company’s new head, together with his professional team, will successfully fulfill the tasks entrusted to them,” stated Mariam Kvrivishvili.
From July 9, 2025, the Electricity Market Operator has cancelled the registration of LLC “Mtkvari Hesi”, in the part of Mtkvari HPP, as a Power Plant - During the Test Run and/or a Comprehensive Testing and in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”, it is no more considered as a wholesale trade participant.
From July 10, 2025, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Mtkvari hesi” LLC to take part in the wholesale trade as Direct Customer, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From June 23, 2025, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Metenergy” LLC to take part in the wholesale trade as a Wholesale Supplier of Electricity, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From June 18, 2025, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “”Parvus Basra” LLC to take part in the wholesale trade as a Small Power Plant in the part of Basra 1 HPP and Basra 3 HPP, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From June 17, 2025, the Electricity Market Operator has cancelled the registration of “Parvus Basra” LLC, in the part of Basra 1 HPP and Basra 3 HPP, as a Power Plant - During the Test Run and/or a Comprehensive Testing and in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”, it is no more considered as a wholesale trade participant.
In May 2025, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 266 417 568.9 kWh, which represents 20% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 36 190 716.4.

In May , the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 13.6303233 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 4.021 Tetri.
From March 26, 2025, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Chiora Hesi” LLC (in the part of Chiora HPP) to take part in the wholesale trade as Power Plant - During The Test Run And/Or Complex Testing, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
