In March 2020, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 328 748 177.4 kWh, which represents 31% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 60 706 881.

In March, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 18.4660737 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 12.304 Tetri.
During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly consisted of the electricity generated by HPPs and imported electricity. The share of hydro power plants in total volume of balancing electricity was 49.713%, the share of thermal power plant was 0.003%, the share of wind farm 2.684%, whereas the share of import was 47.600%.

In March 2020, the distribution companies and the direct consumers bought the balancing electricity from ESCO. Their equity participation in balancing electricity purchase, respectively, was 82% and 13%. In March, the Dispatch Licensee bought balancing electricity to cover losses in the transmission network, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 5%.
