In December 2020, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 249 143 237.40 kWh, which represents 20% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 39 202 819.4.

In December, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 15,7376184 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 12.304 Tetri.

During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly consisted of the imported electricity. The share of hydro power plants in total volume of balancing electricity was 28%, the share of wind farm 3%, the share of thermal power plants 5%, whereas the share of import was 64%.

In December 2020, the distribution companies and the direct consumers bought the balancing electricity from ESCO. Their equity participation in balancing electricity purchase, respectively, was 51.106% and 39.435%. In December, the Dispatch Licensee bought balancing electricity to cover losses in the transmission network, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 9.425%. In addition, in December, the balancing electricity was exported and its share was 0.034%.
