In May 2021, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 223 484 185,5 kWh, which represents 18% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 28 505 275.

In May, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 12,7549405 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 1.857 Tetri.
During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly consisted of the electricity generated by HPPs. The share of hydro power plants in total volume of balancing electricity was 94%, the share of wind farm 4%, whereas the share of import was 2%.

In May 2021, the distribution companies and the direct consumers bought the balancing electricity from ESCO. Their equity participation in balancing electricity purchase, respectively, was 73.0% and 3.1%. In May, the Dispatch Licensee bought balancing electricity to cover losses in the transmission network, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 11.5%. In addition, in May, the balancing electricity was exported, and its share was 12.4%.
