In February 2022, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 370 535 989.3 kWh, which represents 30% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 72 991 197.1

In February the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 19.6988145 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 4.653 Tetri.

During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly consisted of the electricity generated by TPP’s. The share of hydro power plants in total volume of balancing electricity was 21.3%, the share of wind farm 1.5%, the share of thermal power plants 39.2%, whereas the share of import was 38.0%.

In February 2022, the share of balancing electricity purchased by direct consumers from ESCO was 30.9% in total volume of balancing electricity. In February, the Dispatch Licensee bought balancing electricity to cover losses in the transmission network, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 5%.
