In August 2022, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 144 134 700.4 kWh, which represents 10% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 21 956 827.6.

In August the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up GEL 21 956 827.6, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 1.857 Tetri.
During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly consisted of the electricity generated by HPP’s. The share of hydro power plants in total volume of balancing electricity was 76%, the share of wind farm 7%, the share of TPP’s – 17%.

In August 2022, the share of balancing electricity purchased by direct consumers from ESCO was 33.41% in total volume of balancing electricity. In August, the Dispatch Licensee bought balancing electricity to cover losses in the transmission network, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 19.27%.
