In February 2023, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 222 151 787.0 kWh, which represents 19% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 32 111 460.

In February, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 14.4547384 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 11.506 Tetri.
During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly consisted of the electricity generated by TPP’s. The share of hydro power plants in total volume of balancing electricity was 28%, the share of wind farm 3%, the share of TPP’s – 68% and share of import – 1%.

In February 2023, the share of balancing electricity purchased by direct consumers from ESCO was 18% in total volume of balancing electricity. In February, the Dispatch Licensee bought balancing electricity to cover losses in the transmission network, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 11%.
