Settlement Indicators of May 2023

In May 2023, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 131 525 100.6 kWh, which represents 10% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 13 722 266.

In May, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up  8.5196638 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 1.857 Tetri.

During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly consisted of the electricity generated by HPP’s. The share of hydro power plants in total volume of balancing electricity was 93.5%, the share of wind farm 5.8%, the share of TPP’s –0,7% and share of import – 0%.

In May 2023, the share of balancing electricity purchased by direct consumers from ESCO was 4,96% in total volume of balancing electricity. In May, the Dispatch Licensee bought balancing electricity to cover losses in the transmission network, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 23.2%.
