Kakhaber Keburia Appointed Director General of ESCO

From July 21, 2023, a new general director will lead the Electricity Market Operator. Mr. Kakhaber Keburia is one of the prominent figures in the electricity sector of Georgia, with many years of experience and management practice. He has worked in several responsible positions:

Since 2022 he has been the First Deputy General Director of JSC "State Electricity System of Georgia"; a member of the Board of Directors, and Director of Project Management.

From 2010-2018 he was the Director of the Gardabani district of the JSC "Energo-Pro Georgia".

From 2007-2010 he was the Chief Engineer of the Gardabani district of the JSC "Energo-Pro Georgia".

From 2005-2007, he was the Chief Engineer of the Kvemo Kartli branch of the Teleti-Martkopi district of USAID and the United Energy Distribution Company of Georgia. In 2004, he was the Electrical Engineer of the same company.

Kakhaber Keburia’s professionalism, competence, management skills, and many years of experience in the power industry will be useful for the further development of the Electricity Market Operator - ESCO, for the correct and cohesive positioning of its role and functions in the Georgian electricity market and in the electricity industry as a whole.
