ESCO's Participation in the Trader’s Training Program and Award Ceremony
On March 29, Vakhtang Ambokadze, General Director of the Electricity Market Operator (ESCO) participated in the ceremony of completion of joint training program of ISET Policy Institute, USAID/Georgia and G4G and awarding traders with the certificates.
As a result of Georgia's accession to the European Union's Energy Charter, the need for a new profession-trader has emerged on the Georgian electricity market in the course of the current reform and liberalization of the electricity market. ISET research institute “ISET Policy Institute” has conducted a four-week training program on electricity trading, supported and financed by USAID/Georgia and G4G. ESCO’s representatives: Mariam Machavariani and Natia Lortkipanidze participated in the study process. The aim of the program was to develop skills for students and help them determine their optimal trading strategy. Today, Georgia has 11 certified traders, who will be able to evaluate the trade and risks of electricity by considering modern standards and practices.
