ESCO Representatives’ Business trip to Slovenia
On 4-6 September this year, as part of the technical support of the Energy Community, the representatives of Georgian Electricity Market Operator (ESCO) and Georgian National Commission for Regulation of Energy and Water Supply GNERC) were on a business trip to Slovenia, Ljubljana. Meetings were held with the Slovenian Electricity Market Operator (BORZEN), which, within the framework of the mentioned technical assistance, will prepare the recommendations for establish a competitive market (day-ahead and hourly market) in Georgia.
To exchange experience in connection with the establishment of a competitive market, the Company representatives also met with the representatives of the Slovenian Energy Regulator, Electricity Transmission System Operator and other major participants of the electricity market.
As part of the technical assistance of EU4Energy, related to the design of new electricity market in Georgia, the presentation of recommendation document, prepared by the Slovenian Electricity Market Operator (BORZEN) is scheduled for mid-October. The prospects of the development of the electricity market will be presented taking into account European experience and the specifics/capacity of Georgian market.
