Settlement Indicators of February 2017

In February 2017, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 336 372 176.6 kWh, which represents 33% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up 45 518 563.6 GEL.

In February, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up  13.5322024 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was  14.234 Tetri/kWh

During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly, consisted of the imported electricity. The share of import in total volume of balancing electricity was 46%, the share of thermal power plants was 31%, whereas the share of hydro power plants was 23%.

In February, 2017, the distribution companies and the direct consumers bought the balancing electricity from ESCO. Their equity participation in balancing electricity purchase, respectively, was 75.1% and 12.5%. In addition, Abkhazia’s consumption was partially secured at the expense of balancing electricity, which makes up 12.3% of balancing electricity, totally purchased in February. At the same time, in order to ensure the transit in February, the Dispatch Licensee, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 0.1%, has bought the losses.
