Under the leadership of ESCO General Director Mr. David Tvalabeishvili, regular meetings are held to discuss and improve draft documents/rules related to the performance of the responsible and important function of ESCO as a wholesale public supplier in the new electricity market model.
In January 2022, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 413 263 138.1 kWh, which represents 29% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 75 958 661.6.

In January, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 18.3802170 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 4.653 Tetri.
From February 8, 2022, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the JSC “Georgian Greenhouse Corporation” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as Direct Customer, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
On February 9, 2022 ESCO announced the Electronic Tender NAT220002746 for a one-year extension of software licenses (Operating Systems - CPV48620000) used by the company. The estimated cost of the purchase is GEL 10,620.0. The deadline for accepting proposals is February at 12:00 on February 17, 2022.
From January 12, 2022, the registration of “Mtsire Energy” LTD as Small Power Plant (in the part of Intsoba HPP and Achi HPP) is cancelled by the Electricity Market Operator and in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”, it is no more considered as a wholesale trade participant.
From January 12, 2022, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “C-C-E-H Hydro VIII” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as a Small Power Plant in the part of Intsoba HPP and Achi HPP, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
In December 2021, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 385 627 269.2 kWh, which represents 28% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 64 863 383.2.

In December, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 16.8211009 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 12.304 Tetri.
From January 13, 2022, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the "L-Trade" LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as electricity wholesale supplier, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
The former Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mr. Davit Tvalabeishvili was appointed as the General Director of the Electricity Market Operator (ESCO).
The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mrs. Natia Turnava introduced a new manager to the employees of the Company.
