In August 2018, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 178 322 147.1 kWh, which represents 17% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 21 146 639.06.

In August, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 11.8587866 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was  1.818 Tetri/kWh.

On September 11, 2018, ESCO announced the electronic tender for the procurement of car wash serviceNAT 180014562. Approximate contractual cost of the procurement is GEL 2 070.

On 4-6 September this year, as part of the technical support of the Energy Community, the representatives of Georgian Electricity Market Operator (ESCO) and Georgian National Commission for Regulation of Energy and Water Supply GNERC) were on a business trip to Slovenia, Ljubljana. Meetings were held with the Slovenian Electricity Market Operator (BORZEN), which, within the framework of the mentioned technical assistance, will prepare the recommendations for establish a competitive market (day-ahead and hourly market) in Georgia.

On September 5, 2018, ESCO announced the electronic tender (SPA180007388) for the repair and maintenance of vehicles. The approximate contract value of the procurement object is GEL 2 850, whereas the price-current is GEL 160 615.

On 24 August 2018, at 12:00 o’clock Georgian Time, at ESCO’s office, attended by the authorized representatives of applicant companies, documentations presented by the companies taking part in expression of interest on import of electricity into the Georgian Power System in September 2018, made public on 17 August 2018, was revealed for review.   

Two companies have expressed their interest in conducting an Import of electricity to Georgia – “Elgreen Holdings Incorporated” and “Интер Рао ЕЭС”.

The best offer was submitted and subsequently declared a winner – “Интер Рао ЕЭС”.

From August 23, 2018, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “ENERGO-PRO GEORGIA” JSC to take part in the wholesale trade as Direct Customer, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.

JSC "Electricity System Commercial Operator” is pleased to announce acceptance of submitted applications for the import of electricity in September 2018, approximate volume of Import is 138.1 mln kW.h. Any interested party (a non-resident legal entity) has the right to submit an offer.

The deadline for submitting the application is: 23 August2018, 17:00 (Tbilisi time) 

The discussions of submitted applications will be held on 24 August, 2018, at 12:00 (Tbilisi time), at the Office of JSC "Electricity System Commercial Operator” (2 Baratashvili Street, Tbilisi, Georgia, 5th floor, room №16).

In July 2018, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 68 714 530.5 kWh, which represents 5% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 6 136 930.
