A working meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the State Electricity System of Georgia was held in ESCO.
The meeting discussed the changes that are planned to be introduced to the "Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules". Preparation of the package of amendments and specific proposals were talked over.
In August 2023, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 119 963 275 kWh, which represents 8% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 16 368 024.

In August, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 13.6441957 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 1.857 Tetri.
The management of the Electricity Market Operator together with the relevant agencies held a working meeting with representatives of the Georgian State Electricity System.
The meeting discussed the issue of electricity flow with neighbouring countries and the possibility of working in parallel mode.

Today, September 10, at the event dedicated to the Day of Georgian Power Engineer, which took place on the territory of the historic Zahesi Dam, the Deputy Minister of Energy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Romeo Mikutadze together with the General Director of the Electricity Market Operator Kakhaber Keburia and heads of other energy companies awarded Georgian power engineers with the title "Power Engineer of Georgia". ESCO is pleased to congratulate its employees Luiza Macharadze, Tsiuri Kalandadze and Zakro Kokhreidze on receiving this honorable award. I wish them health and many professional successes.

From September 5, 2023, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Mestiatchala Energy” LLC (in the part of Mestiatchala 1 HPP) to take part in the wholesale trade as Power Plant - During The Test Run And/Or Complex Testing, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From September 4, 2023, the Electricity Market Operator has cancelled the registration of “Mestiatchala Energy” LLC as a Direct Consumer and in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”, it is no more considered as a wholesale trade participant.
