From June 03, 2020, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “ALN COMMODITY” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as electricity wholesale supplier, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
In April 2020, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 211 116 722.9 kWh, which represents 22% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 33 789 508.5.

In April, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 16.0888149 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 12.304 Tetri.
On April 16, 2020, at the invitation of the Secretariat of the "Energy Union", ESCO participated in an online seminar organized by the EU4Energy Project - "Electricity Market and Trade". The main goal of the seminar was to share experiences between member states on the ongoing processes in the development of the electricity market within the framework of the "Energy Union".
In order to prevent the possible spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and by the decree of Georgian Government, the JSC "Electricity Market Commercial Operator" switches to a partially distant operation mode. The ESCO management has assigned the part of the employees, who will perform their duties distantly and do not particularly need to be at work.

In March, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 18.4660737 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 12.304 Tetri.
From March 27, 2020 the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Gardabani Thermal Power Plant 2” LTD (in the part of Gardabani Thermal Power Plant 2) to take part in the wholesale trade as Generation Licensee, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From March 26, 2020, the registration of “Gardabani Thermal Power Plant 2” LTD as Direct Customer is cancelled by the Electricity Market Operator and in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”, it is no more considered as a wholesale trade participant.
In February 2020, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 275 887 217.8 kWh, which represents 24% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 38 303 600.0.

From March 04, 2020, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Gardabani Thermal Power Plant 2” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as Direct Customer (in the part of Gardabani TPP 2), in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
