ESCO Holds Business Meeting with SOCAR

The Electricity System Commercial Operator held a business meeting with representatives of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) to discuss and agree on the contractual terms governing electricity import and transit between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the draft agreement in detail and discussed its contractual provisions. ESCO also introduced the guests to key aspects of Georgia's electricity market, including the market operation system, the legislative framework, and the country's priorities and future prospects for electricity market development.

The meeting was chaired by ESCO’s General Director, Mr. Tornike Kazarashvili.

Both ESCO and SOCAR emphasized that the meeting was productive and of great importance, not only for reaching agreement on the terms and conditions for electricity import and transit, but also for strengthening future cooperation between the energy systems of Georgia and Azerbaijan and promoting regional energy integration.
