Settlement Indicators of April 2020

In April 2020, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 211 116 722.9 kWh, which represents 22% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 33 789 508.5.

In April, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 16.0888149 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 12.304 Tetri.

During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly consisted of the electricity generated by HPPs. The share of hydro power plants in total volume of balancing electricity was 78.86%, the share of wind farm 3.98%, whereas the share of import was 17.16%.

In April 2020, the distribution companies and the direct consumers bought the balancing electricity from ESCO. Their equity participation in balancing electricity purchase, respectively, was 50.7% and 24.6%. In April, the Dispatch Licensee bought balancing electricity to cover losses in the transmission network, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 7.6%. In addition, Abkhazia’s consumption was partially secured at the expense of balancing electricity, which makes up 14.1% of balancing electricity, totally purchased in April. In addition, in April, the balancing electricity was exported and its share was 3.0%.
