Settlement Indicators of January 2022

In January 2022, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 413 263 138.1 kWh, which represents 29% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 75 958 661.6.

In January, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 18.3802170 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 4.653 Tetri.

During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly consisted of the imported electricity. The share of hydro power plants in total volume of balancing electricity was 21.0%, the share of wind farm 1.6%, the share of thermal power plants 38.2%, whereas the share of import was 39.2%.

In January 2022, the distribution companies and the direct consumers bought the balancing electricity from ESCO. Their equity participation in balancing electricity purchase, respectively, was 20% and 27%. In January, the Dispatch Licensee bought balancing electricity to cover losses in the transmission network, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 5%.
