In January 2023, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 243 746 221.4 kWh, which represents 18% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 35 382 043.1

In January, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 14.5159350 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 12.611 Tetri.
During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly consisted of the electricity generated by TPP’s. The share of hydro power plants in total volume of balancing electricity was 28.11%, the share of wind farm 3.31%, the share of TPP’s – 67.24% and share of import – 1.34%.

In January 2023, the share of balancing electricity purchased by direct consumers from ESCO was 35% in total volume of balancing electricity. In January, the Dispatch Licensee bought balancing electricity to cover losses in the transmission network, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 11%.
