On October 18-19, the representatives of the Electricity Market Commercial Operator of Georgia (ESCO) and the National Energy and Water Regulatory Commission of Georgia (GNERC), together with the Slovenian Market Operator (BORZEN) visited Turkey (Istanbul), as part of the technical support of the Energy Community. The workshops were held with the Turkish Electricity Market Operator (EPIAS) and the Energy Field Regulator (EMRA). During the workshops, current energy trading schemes of Turkey, both daily and hourly, as well as the existing practice of operating organized markets were discussed. In view of the above, the parties discussed the prospects for trade and cooperation between Georgia and Turkey in the context of harmonization with the EU legislation / standards in the field of energy trade.

In September 2018, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 238 007 008.5 kWh, which represents 24% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 27 653 704.95.

In September, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 11.6191542 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was  11.248 Tetri.

From October 05, 2018, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “ACHAR ENERGY-2007” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as Direct Customer (in the part of Kirnati HPP), in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.

From October 05, 2018, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “FSHAVI HYDRO” LTD (in the part of Skurdidi HPP) to take part in the wholesale trade as Power Plant - During The Test Run And/Or Complex Testing, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.

On October 1-5, 2018, the representatives of the Electricity Market Commertial Operator of Georgia - Tamar Tsurtsumia (Head of International and Investor Relations Department) and Zaza Gergaia (Head of Trade Organization and Development Department) were on a business trip to Bucharest, Romania, where, within the framework of cooperation between the Energy Program of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Agency for International Development of Romania, the workshop was held on the topic „Market Liberalization and Renewable Energy“.

From October 04, 2018, (at 24:00) the Electricity Market Operator has cancelled the registration of “ACHAR ENERGY-2007” LTD (in the part of “KIRNATI HPP”) as a Power Plant - During the Test Run and/or a Comprehensive Testing and in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”, it is no more considered as a wholesale trade participant.

From September 26, 2018, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Georgian Water and Power” LTD (in the part of “Bodornahesi”) to take part in the wholesale trade as Power Plant - During The Test Run And/Or Complex Testing, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.

ESCO announced an electronic tender (SPA 180014927) for the purchase of a fire alarm system to protect the server on September 17, 2018. Estimated cost of this tender is GEL 31000. The deadline for submission of the tender offer ends on September 25, 2018 at 13:00.

In August 2018, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 178 322 147.1 kWh, which represents 17% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 21 146 639.06.

In August, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 11.8587866 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was  1.818 Tetri/kWh.

On September 11, 2018, ESCO announced the electronic tender for the procurement of car wash serviceNAT 180014562. Approximate contractual cost of the procurement is GEL 2 070.
