From November 22, 2018, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “OLD ENERGY” JSC (in the part of OLD ENERGY HPP) to take part in the wholesale trade as Power Plant - During The Test Run And/Or Complex Testing, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From November 21, 2018, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “JONOULI 1” LTD (in the part of Jonouli 1 HPP) to take part in the wholesale trade as Power Plant - During The Test Run And/Or Complex Testing, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
On 19-20 November, 2018, the General Director of ESCO, Mr. Vakhtang Ambokadze, and the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mrs. Natia Turnava were on a business trip to Istanbul, Turkey. Business meetings were held with the Electricity Market Operator of Turkey (EPIAS), where the parties discussed the trading schemes available in Turkey, both daily and hourly, as well as the existing practice of operating the organized markets.
From November 19, 2018, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “GEORGIAN WATER AND POWER” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as a Small Power Plant in the part of Bodorna HPP, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From November 18, 2018, the Electricity Market Operator has cancelled the registration of “GEORGIAN WATER AND POWER” LTD, in the part of Bodorna HPP, as a Power Plant - During the Test Run and/or a Comprehensive Testing and in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”, it is no more considered as a wholesale trade participant.
From November 13, 2018, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Achar Energy-2007” Ltd to take part in the wholesale trade as Generation Licensee in the part of Kirnati HPP, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From November 12, 2018, the Electricity Market Operator has cancelled the registration of “Achar Energy-2007” Ltd as direct customer and in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”, it is no more considered as a wholesale trade participant.
In October 2018, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 321 533 403.1 kWh, which represents 32% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 45 159 398.6.

In October, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 14.04501 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 11.248 Tetri.
On October 18-19, the representatives of the Electricity Market Commercial Operator of Georgia (ESCO) and the National Energy and Water Regulatory Commission of Georgia (GNERC), together with the Slovenian Market Operator (BORZEN) visited Turkey (Istanbul), as part of the technical support of the Energy Community. The workshops were held with the Turkish Electricity Market Operator (EPIAS) and the Energy Field Regulator (EMRA). During the workshops, current energy trading schemes of Turkey, both daily and hourly, as well as the existing practice of operating organized markets were discussed. In view of the above, the parties discussed the prospects for trade and cooperation between Georgia and Turkey in the context of harmonization with the EU legislation / standards in the field of energy trade.
In September 2018, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 238 007 008.5 kWh, which represents 24% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 27 653 704.95.
