Settlement Indicators of May 2020

In May 2020, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 250 051 710.2 kWh, which represents 27% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 33 026 012.4.

In May, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 13.2076731 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 1.358 Tetri.

During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly consisted of the electricity generated by HPPs. The share of hydro power plants in total volume of balancing electricity was 94.11%, the share of wind farm 3.26%, the share of TPPs was 0.01%, whereas the share of import was 2.62%.

In May 2020, the distribution companies and the direct consumers bought the balancing electricity from ESCO. Their equity participation in balancing electricity purchase, respectively, was 75.0% and 16.0%. In May, the Dispatch Licensee bought balancing electricity to cover losses in the transmission network, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 9.0%.
