Settlement Indicators of May 2018

In May 2018, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 87 225 285.3 kWh,

which represents 7% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 11 569 730.3.

In May, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 13.2641931 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was  1.818 Tetri/kWh.

During the mentioned reporting period, the balancing electricity, purchased by ESCO, mainly consisted of the imported electricity. The share of import in total volume of balancing electricity was 50%, the share of wind farm 6%, whereas the share of hydro power plants was 44%.

In May, 2018, the distribution companies and the direct consumers bought the balancing electricity from ESCO. Their equity participation in the purchase of balancing electricity, respectively, was 68.4% and 2.4%. At the same time, the volume of balancing electricity, purchased by the Dispatch Licensee in compliance with the Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules (Article 14², Clause 4) has amounted to 59 242 kWh, which was 0.1% of balancing electricity in May. In May, the Dispatch Licensee bought balancing electricity to cover losses in the transmission network, whose share in the purchase of balancing electricity was 29.1%.
