Today, a consultation meeting was held between the Electricity System Commercial Operator and the World Bank's Energy Sector Security and Strengthening Mission Group to prepare for the ESCO international standard certification (ISO 27001)
The General Director of the Electricity System Commercial Operator Mr. Kakhaber Keburia, together with the representative of ESCO, participated in the conference Promoting Business Networking in the Energy Sector, organized by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The event was attended by representatives of public, private, donor, and investor companies in the energy sector, as well as financial institutions. The Director of USAID/Georgia Economic Growth Office Mr. Michelle Koselski and USAID Georgia Energy Futures Program Manager Mr. Robert Taylor introduced themselves to the conference participants.

A working meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the State Electricity System of Georgia was held in ESCO.
The meeting discussed the changes that are planned to be introduced to the "Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules". Preparation of the package of amendments and specific proposals were talked over.
In August 2023, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 119 963 275 kWh, which represents 8% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity has made up GEL 16 368 024.

In August, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 13.6441957 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 1.857 Tetri.
The management of the Electricity Market Operator together with the relevant agencies held a working meeting with representatives of the Georgian State Electricity System.
The meeting discussed the issue of electricity flow with neighbouring countries and the possibility of working in parallel mode.
