Mr. Zaza Dvalishvili was appointed as Acting Director of the Electricity Market Operator.
Today, Mrs. Natia Turunava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, and Mr. David Tvalabeishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy, visited ESCO. Mrs. Natia Turnava presented Mr. Zaza Dvalishvili as Acting General Director of ESCO.
From May 23, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “N P GROUP” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as exporter, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From May 23, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “NP GROUP” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as electricity wholesale supplier, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From May 22, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “INTER RAO GEORGIA” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as exporter, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From May 22, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “INTER RAO GEORGIA” Ltd to take part in the wholesale trade as importer, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From May 22, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “INTER RAO GEORGIA” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as electricity wholesale supplier, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
In April 2019, the quantity of balancing electricity, purchased (sold) through ESCO was 236 906 225.67 kWh, which represents 23% of total delivery to the grid in mentioned month. The cost of balancing electricity have made up GEL 30 823 745.

In April, the Weighted Average Price of balancing electricity per kWh made up 13.0127023 Tetri, while the price of balancing electricity of the deregulated hydro power plants was 10.614 Tetri.
General Director of the Electricity Market Operator Mr. Vakhtang Ambokadze participated in the Conference “Blockchain Technology of the Energy Sector” organized by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, USAID/Georgia and G4G, where the use of Blockchain Technology was presented as a prototype of an efficient payment mechanism in the electricity market. The Conference was attended by the representatives of Georgian government, the energy sector and international donor organizations.
From May 01, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”, has registered to take part in the wholesale trade as Direct Customer the following enterprises:

From April 25, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “SVANETI HYDRO” JSC (in the part of MESTIACHALA 1 HPP) to take part in the wholesale trade as Power Plant - During The Test Run And/Or Complex Testing, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
